Jane Freiburg Nickerson has taught English at Gallaudet University for twenty-six years. During the past ten years, she has taught numerous literature and film courses. She recently published a chapter entitled "Reflections of Society in Film: From Citizen Kane to Erin Brockovich" in Lesson Plans for Creating Media-Rich Classrooms, a National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) publication. In November 2009, she will co-chair the film festival at the annual NCTE convention that will be held in Philadelphia, PA. She received her doctorate in education, curriculum, and instruction, specializing in reading education, from the University of Maryland at College Park. As a WORLDEAF Film Festival committee member, she helps with the film and vlog submission process. |
